Kathie George Seminar
Sept 29 & 30, 2008
Watercolor, Mixed media, & Batik
We are excited to have Kathie George, a well known watercolor and batik artist, at Artful Endeavors for two days of sharing her wonderful art techniques. Her work is primarily water media or collage, but she is best known for her ‘watercolor batik on rice paper’ work.
From Kathie’s web site: “As a workshop instructor for over 25 years, Kathie is known for her friendly, informative and energetic approach to teaching. Her students say “she has an innate ability to know what a student needs and then show them how to get there.” No doubt this may be one reason students return to her workshops over and over again.
Kathie George’s award winning work can be found in many corporate and private collections in the US and abroad. She has twice been a finalist in Artist Magazine’s Art Competition (among 14,000 entrants) and her work was featured in their Limited Edition Calendar in 2001, and again in 2007.
Kathie has authored 5 watercolor books and written numerous magazine articles for well-known artist magazines. She’s a signature member of both the Ohio and Florida Watercolor Societies.”
Monday Sept 29 Poppy Trio. A wonderful batik floral design with large red poppies.
Tuesday, Sept 30 Crows in My Garden. A striking mixed media collage with papers, acrylics, and texture. Everyone gets to use their own color scheme and they all will be different.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to share this painting experience with Kathie. Register now to reserve your seat!
I'll have project photos on the blog soon!

On Friday, Feb 22, we’ll paper and paint this fun notes book. I’ve added an evening class for those of you who can’t come during the day. Let me know soon if you can join us so that I can make sure I have the supplies we need.
Feb 22 Mixed Media Notes Book 10a – 3p or 6p- 10p
A wonderful book for your painting notes and sketches. Made using Gail’s beautiful papers and painted with a graceful daisy. Papers included in class fee.
I’ve move the Bowl of Berries to April since I just didn’t get it painted in time to organize a Feb class. I’m working on the Bunny now and he is a cute and fluffy realistic bunny.
No prior painting experience is required for the Bunny or Berries class but always appreciated. All supplies included.
Mar 7 10a - 12:30p or 6p - 8:30p Spring Bunny
Apr 11 10a - 12:30p or 6p - 8:30p Bowl of Berries
I’ve painted the berries on a tile and am pleased with effect. You have to see these raspberries glow.
I’ve added a Leaf Study to our March schedule for those of you who have been asking for it. The class is filling quickly so be sure to let me know soon if you want to join us.
March 29 Leaf Study A must have class to increase your skills in acrylics, brush care, and techniques for painting realistic leaves.
And in preparation for our seminar with Kathie George, wonderful watercolor and batik artist, in Sept, I’ll teach a batik class in May so that we are familiar with her techniques.
