Painting at the Sawmill Studio

We are starting to get settled in our new studio and we love it. The light is wonderfully even, there is lots of space, and it's just like painting in our own tree house. Dining at the new(to us anyway) restaurants has been a delightful adventure also.

It's been nice with these large projects like the Tuscan Chicken and the Paris Grocery to have the space to spread out. And the space will be wonderful for seminars. I'm excited about the upcoming seminar with Ros, especially at the new studio.

Studio hours will be
Monday 11a-6p
Tue 10a-4p
Wed 10a-8p
and Friday & Sat when I have classes scheduled which is at least about twice a month. You can consult the schedule to see when classes are planned. It's alway a good idea to call me before you come to make sure I'm in and haven't gone out for lunch or an errand. It's a treat to be able to go out to lunch now.

We've been working on the schedule and have some exciting additions. Watch for the schedule to arrive soon. I'm also looking for suggestions for upcoming classes. We need to plan our Christmas projects so that we can have them completed before the holidays.

I'll continue the Tue morning open class this summer, so if you need to catch up on something or want to work on an individual project, give me a call to schedule a Tue morning class.

On Wed we have 2 new landscapes coming up that will be lots of fun to create. Watch for our realistic fruit on Wed afternoon, too. It's from an amazing Deanne Fortnam design. And I've had requests for floorcloths. That will be fun.

Watch for the Black Velvet Rose in a Sat class in July.

I will take some time off this summer after Ros' seminar, but we have some great classes planned with Lynn (her wonderful fish bowl) and Dianne (the delightfully whimsical Toad Stool on Wed evening for those who are missing it this weekend).

I'll have information about the Sharon Hamilton seminar in Nov soon. This seminar is a wonderful learning opportunity for the intermediate and advanced painter. This year we'll probably be using the Traditions paints and learning about the global blending techniques. Get ready for this year with Sharon.

I'm very pleased with our 2008 seminar schedule. We have five seminars planned so far.

Ginger Edwards in Feb/Mar for dimensional acrylics for that oil painting effect.

Ronnie Bringle in Apr/May for a project and portrait. I have Ronnie's permission to teach a face in her style that will qualify you to paint with her next May. Watch the schedule.

Ros in July with more projects designed just for us at Artful Endeavors.

Kathie George at the end of Sept with watercolors and Batik.

And Linda McFadden! in Oct. We've loved painting so many of her designs, like the Tuscan Chicken and the fruit fire screen. Linda has retired from travel teaching but will travel to us since her son is in the military near by and she gets to visit him. Don't miss this rare opportunity to paint with Linda.
