More Projects Painted

While I've been snowed in I've completed two more of our upcoming projects. Fun.

The Fruit and Nuts is a wonderful Barb Watson design.

This Flower Still Life is a Cheri Rol design that we are painting in acrylics. Love this design. It's coming up soon so register now.

Ginger Edwards Seminar Paintings Photos

We have the first of our photos in from Ginger for our April 30, May 1 & 2, 2010 seminar. Watch for more of our project photos soon.

Mastering the Decorative Painting Basics

Registration is open for Liz's Decorative Painting Basics video on Creative Workshops. This is the first video in a 3 part series on the basic techniques that we use in our acrylic painting. In this first video you will learn preparation of your unfinished wood surface, strokes with the round and flat brushes, and base coating your design elements.

This video is great for the novice acrylic painter or for those painters who would like to improve their techniques. Liz presents the material in an easy to follow, step by step manner. The video is broken into short segments between which you can take time for that important step, practice.

Register now at Creative Workshops. Also check out the other educational opportunities.

Help for Haiti

My cousin, his wife, and daughter, an RN were in Haiti working at the Ryan Epps Home for children when the earthquake hit. They are OK, but report lots of devastation and desperately pray for supplies to be able to help those in need. If you are able to give any amount of money for medical supplies and necessities please do so.

Don't know where to give? Horne Memorial United Methodist Church is providing help directly to Haiti.

Painting in 2010

The holidays are over for another year and we're back to our usual routine. That means it's time to paint. Classes resume at Artful Endeavors this week with some of our special picks.

We have some lovely assorted Trudy Beard birds starting Wed morning, and Betty Caithness' Four Seasons starting in the afternoon. Wed evening will begin the highly popular Paris Cafe by Linda Lock.

On Friday, Jan 15th, we'll paint the so cute fawn by Peggy Harris that everyone admires at our studio near the door. This is a four hour class and the project will be completed in one day.

Those of you who have been wanted to paint another batik, here it is. Saturday, Feb 6, we'll paint Kathie George's Tuscan Window, one of her new designs from her travel teaching in Tuscany this past year.

We'll start Basics students on Jan 13. You have the choice of a 10a-12:30p or 6:15p-8:30p class. If you haven't painted with us or if you haven't painted at all, this is the class to get you started.

If you have some idea of what the term "side loading" means, and are at least somewhat proficient in it, you probably need to join our ongoing classes. Come visit our studio and see the actual projects. Can't come right now? Check the photos on the class page.

Can't come out in the oh so cold, then it's a good time to take one of our on line classes at Creative Workshops.

And there are lots of other exciting painting waiting to come out of the paint bottles.
